Street Crossing Guard

Applications are now being accepted to fill one (1) Full-Time Street Crossing Guard position in the Village of Goshen.

This work involves responsibility for assisting children and other pedestrians in the safe crossing of streets and intersections and/or the direction of traffic at school and church crossings during specified periods of time. The work is performed under the direct supervision of a senior official. Does related work as required.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Directs children and other pedestrians in safely crossing streets and intersections;
Instructs pedestrians on proper street crossing and general traffic procedures;
Monitors traffic activities for a specified area;
Maintains order at crossings and intersections;
May direct traffic as required;
Maybe required to complete or assist in completing department documents or records;
May report specific traffic safety problems or incidents to proper authorities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: None
SALARY: $40,000 annual (40 hour workweek)
